How To: Join the ListenToChurch Slack Channel and Telegram Channel from our Admin Site.
ListenToChurch sends updates regularly, and invites users to share their experiences and chat with us through both our Slack Channel, and through our Telegram Channel. To keep up to date, or just to drop us a line, we recommend signing up for one or both. You can do so easily from within the administration site, as well as the website.
Slack Channel
To join our Slack Channel from the Administration site, first log in to Listentochurch.com with administrative credentials. Click Manage to log into the admin site.
In the admin site, from the Dashboard, you will see the option to join our mailing list, Slack, and Telegram. Select the link under Slack channel.
Upon clicking the link, you will be greeted by an invitation to join our Slack channel, with several login options underneath:
Login with the option that applies to you (or the option you wish to register with). This guide assumes you have the Slack application installed, but if you do not, Slack will take you to a browser version. For this example, we will log in with Google.
Select the account you wish to log in with, or login with your gmail address.
If you have the Slack application on the device in question, you will be asked whether you wish to open the application. Click Open Slack. (If you do not, you will be taken to the browser version). You can also choose to always allow listentochurch’s Slack Channel to open the application.
Upon sign in/ login, you will be taken directly to the Slack Channel and you will be logged in as said user. The same basic process applies for email or Apple ID login.
Telegram Channel
To join our Telegram Channel (via our administrative site), you must first have the application installed on the device you are accessing the listentochurch site from. If you need to install telegram to your Windows laptop/PC, go to https://desktop.telegram.org/ and select Get Telegram for Windows x64. For Android, find it by searching Telegram in Google Play. For an Apple device, search in the Apple App Store.
Install the application, and be sure you are logged in.
From your desired device, sign in to http://listentochurch.com with Administrative credentials, and click Manage from under your user menu.
In the Administrative site, in the Dashboard, click the link under Telegram Channel.
You will be taken to a Telegram channel invitation for ListenToChurch. Click Join Channel.
Upon clicking Join Channel, a prompt will appear to Open Telegram Desktop if from your desktop. You can also choose to always allow the application to open.
On your Android phone, it will ask whether to use Telegram or Chrome, and to select Just Once or Always. We recommend selecting Telegram, and Always. (Apple iphones and tablets will operate in a similar manner.)
Upon selecting to open the app, Telegram will add you and take you directly to the channel on the device selected from.
