How To: Share a Recording
ListenToChurch provides a means to temporarily share a recording with other users temporarily, rather than downloading and sending the actual file, which could (and likely would) violate local copyright laws. You can download recordings of broadcast sessions for your own personal use, but giving the actual media to other members of the congregation directly can be considered pirating. ListentoChurch strongly recommends using the share recording feature to prevent any such issues.
To temporarily share a recording, log into ListenToChurch with management credentials, and click the Manage icon/option under your name to log into the administrative site. Select Recordings from the Administration pane.
Alternatively, you can go directly to Recordings via this link: https://listentochurch.com/admin/recording
Once in the Recordings workspace, you will see all recordings you have made from your broadcast sessions.
Each recording available will have the option to edit or delete, but also four buttons beside each, under Actions.
Share the recording to invited users (registered members of ListentoChurch).
Create a public link to a listen page for the recording (copy and paste the URL to share).
Create a transcription of the recording.
Download the recording.
Invite Users
In order to share your recording you will select the first option, Invite Users. Clicking this button will bring you to the following screen:
In Users, enter the email address or name of the person/people you wish to share the recording with. Then, set the time limit. ListenToChurch strongly recommends to keep the limit to under a week, again, due to copyright concerns, as a precaution.
Once you have clicked Save and new item, the invitation will be sent to the users selected via email, where they can click on the link provided, and listen to the excerpt you have provided them.
